ROBYN - EVER AGAIN

Robyn comes back on the scene after many years with this single off of her album HONEY. The bass paired with her voice makes you want to get to the nearest city club, while still giving off that 'cool girl' vibe. This anthem is an ear-worm for sure.

HOUSES - FAST TALK

The beginning of this song really gets me; old time trumpets with a piano riff open up the scene before the main beat comes in. The lyrics of this song hit home metaphorically, and despite the darker tone, it's sure to be one of the songs the crowd sings by heart.

NOW, NOW - MJ

A tribute to the one and only Michael Jackson is pulled off with a modern alt pop twist by this duo. This song is super upbeat and energetic, with a juxtaposition of voices that make up the chorus and verses. The lyrics themselves are inspired by the lead's idolization of Jackson growing up.

BROODS - HOSPITALIZED

Broods finally comes back after years off the scene with a long anticipated new album. Synth pop is paired with tongue twister lyrics explaining the yearning for physical rather than emotional pain. This one is sure to get people on their feet!

RYAN BEATTY - CAMO

This song's story lyrics really hit home as Beatty dives into the complicated relationship he has with depression and change. Despite the serious tones of the song's message, the beat of the song is playful and the tempo is quick, which allows for the story to almost feel like it's being told in real time as the thoughts enter Beatty's head.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with this weekly songs thing - it always is a process looking for GOOD new music. Until next time,

Anna xxx
