Good morning everyone! Midterms really did kick my ass, but at least we have good tunes to listen to (right? right.) So LEt'S gEt iNtO iT - here are the latest and greatest new-ish records from some of today's performing artists.

IDLES - ultra mono

I was introduced to this band about half a year ago and their sound is definitely the stand-out-in-a-crowd typa punk rock. This whole album is a shout into the universe, covering everything from cat-calling to anxiety to abolishing the police to embracing black beauty. The album (of course) incorporates the band's signature hard riffs and smashing drum beats, so headbanging is necessary. Have fun ;)

GUS DAPPERTON - orca

Oh gus, how I absolutely adore you (and all of the singles leading up to this album). Dapperton really hones in on his style and creates a diverse, yet cohesive body of music, incorporating his dream-pop-rock essence into each track. Not to mention that the lyrics really do make you ~feel~ all the things. Grab your gus buddy and listen to this one in the car at dusk. You're welcome.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD - chip chrome & the monotones

THIS ALBUM. WAS. SO. ANTICIPATED. and honestly, I think the boys really delivered when it comes to mixing a new look with some old and new sound. The vibes overall are groooooovy, whether you're dancing to one of the upbeat tracks or napping to the more lowkey ones. This album makes me wanna go see them in concert AGAIN... who's coming with?

JADEN - ctv3: cool tape vol. 3

I sure as hell was not expecting the soft-boy Jaden to appear with this album, but I am 100% here for it. This 17 track record is just as colorful as the car featured through the Spotify visuals. This is the perfect outside hang around type album - I feel like it's got those sunshine notes mixed with just the right amount of melancholy to not put you in your bag too quick. And as always, Jaden's got a way of transforming relatively simple lyrics into the most vivid stories. Lovestruck babes, this one is for you.

HOCKEY DAD - brain candy

I am a little late to the hockey dad train, but holy shit this is 100% their best album yet. If you've never heard these guys, then you are missing out on some serious alt-rock jams and I suggest you hop on over to your favorite streaming site. The catchy choruses and raw guitar make this record feel like the background to an edgy indie movie, so let your imagination go crazy.

NOTHING BUT THIEVES - moral panic

As I am writing this, I'm listening to the album for the first time (it was released on Friday!) and damn I got the CHILLS! The group absolutely nailed the dynamics between soft vocals and extreme sound, plus some noteworthy tempo changes in tracks like "Phobia". They really manage to make you feel like a badass while also making you miss someone you've never had. Time to scream that poetic genius.

And that's it for this week! Have you heard all of these artists before? Which album was your favorite? I'd love to hear your thoughts :) Stay tuned for new posts coming your way, and make sure to check Instagram for daily life updates!

Until Next Time,

Anna xxx
