I'm starting off this week with my top new album recommendations because who DOESN'T need new music during the beginning of stress season LOL. To those of you who have started classes already, or are starting soon, I wish you the best of luck, whether you be hybrid, in person, online, or none of the above. This semester can and will only be successful if professors and students work together to communicate and pick up the slack that Fordham Administration has presented us with this summer. We have to be the change, or there will be no change. I could go on, but let's stick with the new jams. Without further ado, the best of the best.
DREAMLAND - glass animals

The band promised, and the band has DELIVERED! dreamland has been in the making for a while now, and not only is this album dreamy in its vocals and instrumentation; the concept itself is a dreamscape, memories of childhood via the band members themselves. This album is the perfect addition to your relaxed afternoon mix, whether you're working or simply hanging around.
AUGUST - lewis del mar

I think ALL lewis del mar fans can agree that this release more than made up for the hiatus. I nearly peed myself when I realized that this was a full album release and not just one song on my weekly mix!! I really went on an emotional journey with this one. The lyrics are truly poetic genius, and you can feel every beat in every chorus. While staying true to their past sound, the duo has grown significantly in developing and crowning their own niche in the alt world, complete with African drums abound (percussion gang, I truly miss y'all). This is a perfect album for a late-night car drive - just be prepared to be thrown into your feels by the end.
YOU AND ME AGAIN - sophie meiers

I am so happy this edge goddess is back to bless us with her serenading powers! I was able to see meiers in early 2019 along with cautious clay in nyc, which was such a cool spontaneous experience. Oh, how I miss live music and concerts. This album contains so many relatable lyric moments as well as a banging plethora of riffs that you'll want to be playing over and over and over. Prepare to have a dance party in your room and/or a moody journal sesh.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG - dominic fike

DEBUT ALBUM ALERT! Fike has been in the spotlight on collaboration tracks during the past year, but this step into the solo world is sure to pay off for the young artist. I love the range of genre this album displays, from dance beats to lay-on-the-floor and contemplate life type sounds. Turn the volume alllllll the way up and enjoy the vibes.
And that's the lineup! Have you heard all of these artists before? Which was your favorite jam? Let me know in the comments!
Until Next Time,
Anna xxx
