Hello, my friends!
I firstly want to thank you for your patience, as my posting has been quite sporadic. Thankfully, there is only one more week of classes, and after finals, I am home free! Expect my schedule to settle out a bit, as I will hopefully have more time to curate posts for y'all. As always, if you have any suggestions or requests for topics, please reach out to me via insta !!
And now for your music picks of the week...
MILKY CHANCE - MIND THE MOON

Firstly, I cannot get enough of this album. Milky Chance has definitely made a fiery comeback after their hiatus, and their unique sound is not lost in their newest album. The duo's raspy vocals combined with electronic experimentation and German-influenced instrumentation create a sort of genre of their own. Every track has a distinct beat that makes your body want to move and feel the raw energy this group fosters. The album almost feels otherworldly, as many of the lyrics don't entirely make sense when analyzed upfront.
Track to Bump: Fado
*here's your next dance/dissociation/workout bop*
BECK - HYPERSPACE

Beck makes an unexpected return with his fourteenth studio record and this one is quite possibly my favorite. Each track couldn't be more different, from smooth melodic lullabies to poetic rapping to upbeat electro beats to chill lofi vocals. In this sense, Beck definitely flexes his creative range. All of these tracks could easily stand alone as singles, yet when juxtaposed together, the soundtrack is almost movie-like, with a continual up and down of emotion and action.
Track to Bump: Uneventful Days
*close your eyes, flop onto your bed, and let the layered vocals take you away*
TURNOVER - ALTOGETHER

When these boys announced their up and coming album, I was in a bit of disbelief due to their recent touring and the quick turnover (HA) from traveling to recording. The signature mellow guitar riffs and bedroom pop vocals create a dream-like atmosphere where the listener can truly get lost in the music. Each song tells a separate story with poetry-esque lyrics, whether you're dancing in the middle of the room or laying on the floor staring at the ceiling. One of the things I love most about this album is that it's not rushed at all. The verses flow freely, and one can skip around the album or listen to it in succession and still get the same, almost euphoric feeling.
Track to Bump: Ceramic Sky
*underrated jazz number that is perfect to set the mood*
EMOTIONAL ORANGES - THE JUICE: VOL. II

The orange dream team puts all their feelings on the table with this record. R&B inspired pop fuels the catchy beats, while the lyrical dialogue sets the tone for both sides of the story. Each track is completely different - the first song will have you vibing with a club-type bass foundation layered with sultry vocals. The last jam stands in stark contrast as an upbeat melancholy anthem.
Track to Bump: West Coast Anthem
*destined to take you back to memories of your first crush*
Until Next Time,
