Over the last semester of my college career, I had the privilege of doing my fair share of exploring around New York City looking for some of the best curated, vintage, consignment, and thrift stores. After my last post, I decided to keep up the rhythm of the theme and continue the hunt for some of the city's best-kept fashion secrets. This post contains new joints I went to firsthand in both Manhattan and Brooklyn with ample ranges of both price and styles, both gender and size-inclusive. Here are the noteworthy inhabitants of New York City's vintage scene ...
MANHATTAN
Funny Pretty Nice Vintage

I first went here with Alex when he was visiting in the springtime, and there were so many racks of color-coded cute clothing that we ended up browsing for a while! They just opened up a second location which I had the chance to check out this weekend and was not disappointed. Whether it be hats, essential tops, or dresses, Funny Pretty Nice is serving up looks, and their frequent sale bins always contain hidden treasures.
Hamlet's Vintage

This joint has a solid collection of name-brand vintage clothing along with higher-end pieces, yet in general, was pricier than I expected. Although I left empty-handed, it was a pleasure to browse their stocks of men's dress clothing.
Les Miss

Another shop that I stopped in with Alex, this bright, funky little shop has a curated collection of different artists' clothing, including tops, bottoms, dresses, scarves, jewelry, hats, and more. Many of the items are handmade by NYC artists, and Les Miss frequently does pop-up events featuring said artists as well as different creators like tattoo artists, piercers, and tooth gem artists. You are sure to find something stand-out every time you walk into this vibrant store!
ECDYSIS

I stumbled upon this tiny spot while in lower Manhattan for an appointment one day, and I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were for the styles of vintage being sold. The shop owner was very welcoming and their dressing rooms were definitely a plus. A cool name for an even cooler hidden spot with both ample clothing and accessories.
Central Park Resale and Consignment

On Thursdays before my evening class, I would stop into Central Park Resale for their $2 bin sales and say hello to the owner and her daughter who run the store. From high-end brands to the basics, their wide selection and fair prices kept me coming back to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and search for new finds.
BROOKLYN
GG's Social Trade & Treasure Club

As soon as I stepped foot into GG's, I knew there was a good vibe surrounding the space. Not only did they surprisingly have handmade punk jewelry, but also a great selection of curated vintage with a wide range of price points. The homely feeling of the store coupled with the eclectic clothing definitely makes me want to return and find more goodies.
Raccoon Thrift

I wasn't sure what to expect when reading about the size of this small storefront, but immediately upon entering I realized this was a hidden trove of all kinds of knick-knacks and clothing combined with household items. Everything is pretty packed in, so I took a while to take in the place before exiting with a beautiful vintage glass swan and colorful dress shirt for a very low price. Check this place out if you're looking for inexpensive yet great quality home decor and clothes.
Tired Thrift

This small but mighty y2k capsule store caught my eye on TikTok before I had the chance to stop in, and the collection of unique vintage pieces from the 90s and 2000s are dreamy and total statements for any person's closet. Alex found an insane pair of fubu striped corduroy denim jeans, and I've picked up multiple treasures from the store as I've visited over the last few months, including a pirate-like vest and Harley top with pink laces. They also have story sales on their Instagram almost every day, making viewing their inventory easy online as well.
Frank Vintage

I visited this brand new vintage store for the first time last week and had such a great experience talking to the shop owner and picking out the cutest vintage 70s shot glasses for some friends in the city. The curation of the store gives an elegant, homely vibe, and I truly felt the warmth of the space while walking around. I'll be sure to be back next time I'm in Greenpoint!
Unearth Vintage

While waiting for my friend Mad to get their newest tattoo, I decided to walk down to the thrift store that they recommended from their last trip, and it was an instant yes spot for me. They had every type of clothing, plus accessories like hats and shoes along with dressing rooms where I tried on and ended up purchasing a pair of vintage plaid shorts. All around good prices and great pieces!
Have you been to any of these spots? Which are you most likely to visit next time that you're in New York City? Let me know in the comments!
Until Next Time,
Anna
